The world around us is changing faster than ever. We are in the middle of a green transition that aims to respond to the sustainability crisis, technological disruption, and a transformation of work life. How to find direction, clarity and meaning for what we do when we cannot rely on the experiences of the past? An inclusive green economy improves human well-being and builds social equity while reducing environmental risks and scarcities.In this new Master programme, students are broadening their perspective towards these wicked issues and skills to maintain change in organisations and society.
About the course
The focus of the Master programme in Managing Sustainability and Systems Change (MaSS) is on co-creating a multidimensional approach towards ecological, economic, and social sustainability in business and society, leading to both personal and collective growth and a strong sustainability orientation. Motivation, Passion and Transformation are in key roles as we seek the Sustainability Mindset that enables us to face complex challenges of sustainability. A new mindset works with both inner incentives (human consciousness) and outer incentives (the real nature of sustainability in development).
The Master programme (MaSS) responds also to the increasing need to improve well-being at work in times of disruption.
Curriculum
The programme is based on three competence areas:
- digital transformation of enterprises,
- business ecosystems and platforms, and
- horizons of the digital economy.
The three themes consist of modules aiming to deepen capabilities needed in business today and in the future. The thesis process aims at developing skills of the talents in information retrieval, analysis, scientific writing, and in research and development methods.
The mission is to educate and to train professionals with competences needed to create and develop sustainable business in the digital transformation age. The focus of the programme is on business model innovation, establishing and managing business ecosystems, planning and forecasting in the digital era, and inclusion management leading to new strategic orientation in the digital business context. The future business leaders need to know how to collaborate with others in order to achieve larger social goals and system change.
