The Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Management (BBA) at Laurea is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a career in business with an international focus in Finland or abroad. Digital tools, decision making based on collected data and financial and market insights are key elements in the studies. After core competence studies – that are common for all BBA students – you can specialize in areas of business administration that you find interesting and would like to work among.
At Laurea we are proud of our pedagogical model, Learning by Developing, in which students collaborate on authentic projects with lecturers, companies and business experts to develop and innovate business solutions. This form of learning will develop your business insight and project management skills.
The Business Management degree programme is suitable for students with a variety of backgrounds and interests. In addition to the skills of management, collaboration and problem-solving, you will also learn to use many of the digital tools needed in the modern workplace.
Study content
The degree programme includes mandatory for all core competence studies and elective complementary competence studies. You will also conduct two practical learning periods and at the end of your studies write a bachelor’s thesis.

How to study
Studies in this degree programme are daytime studies, which means that most of your core competence studies are completed during weekdays (from Mon to Fri) between 9AM and 6PM. However, the Business Management programme is a flexible programme, so you can choose from several paths and study options with many possibilities also for online studies. Internationality is part of the studies: you will be cooperating with our international students, exchange students and other foreign actors.
Studies include learning theory on lectures, writing essays and researching the existing data. However, the practical side of studies is emphasized. Students take part in projects in collaboration with partners from work life, such as companies, entrepreneurs and organizations form Finland and abroad. During the whole study path, you will practice combining your theoretical knowledge in real life environments and with working life situations.

Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu on Uudellamaalla sijaitsevat ammattikorkeakoulu, jolla on kuusi kampusta: Tikkurila, Hyvinkää, Lohja, Porvoo sekä Leppävaara ja Otaniemi Espoossa. Kampuksilla opiskelee yhteensä lähes 8000 opiskelijaa 20 AMK-koulutuksessa – 13 suomeksi ja 7 englanniksi sekä 17 YAMK-koulutuksessa – 14 suomeksi ja 3 englanniksi. Laureaan voit siis hakea suorittamaan ensimmäistä korkeakoulututkintoasi toisen asteen opintojen jälkeen, alanvaihdon yhteydessä tai jatkokouluttautumaan ja täydentämään osaamistasi suoritettuasi jo aiemmin korkeakoulututkinnon.
Laureassa voit opiskella päiväopintoina, monimuoto-opintoina tai verkko-opintoina. Monipuolisen opintotarjontamme ansiosta voit suunnitella oman opintoaikataulusi elämäntilanteesi mukaan – voit opiskella esimerkiksi työn ohella tai omalta kotipaikkakunnaltasi käsin. Tarjoamme myös hyvät mahdollisuudet kansainvälistymiseen jo opintojen aikana: meillä opiskelee paljon ihmisiä eri kulttuuritaustoista, vaihto-opiskelijamme osallistuvat opintojaksoille, voit lähteä vaihtoon tai intensiivikurssille sekä tehdä yhteistyötä kansainvälisten yhteistyökumppaneittemme kanssa myös Suomesta käsin.
Opinnoissa painottuu käytännöllisyys sekä kursseilla opitun teoriatiedon soveltaminen oikeisiin työelämän tilanteisiin. Iso osa opinnoistamme suoritetaan opiskelijaprojekteina, joissa yhteistyökumppaneina toimivat oikeat yritykset ja työelämäkumppanit. Arvostamme työelämälähtöisyyttä opinnoissa, ja koulutuksemme toteutetaan tiiviissä yhteistyössä laajan kumppaniverkostomme kanssa. Opiskeluaikanasi pääset harjoittamaan osaamistasi työelämän ympäristöissä sekä verkostoitumaan ja kasvat oman alasi asiantuntijaksi.

Laurea University of Applied Sciences is located in the Helsinki Metropolitan area. Laurea has six campuses in the: Tikkurila campus in Vantaa, Hyvinkää campus, Lohja campus, Porvoo campus and Leppävaara and Otaniemi campuses in Espoo. In total, there are almost 8000 students studying on our campuses. We offer 20 Bachelor’s Degree Programmes – 13 in Finnish and 7 in English – and 17 Master’s Degree Programmes – 14 in Finnish and 3 in English.
Studies are organized as daytime studies, blended learning, or online studies. Our flexible study methods give you the freedom to plan your own study schedule according to your life situation. You can study while working or you can study remotely from your own hometown, even if you don’t live near our campuses. We offer our students great international possibilities during studies: we have students from different cultures and exchange students from all around the world, you can go on a exchange period or study short study periods abroad. Our students also collaborate with our international partners while studying in Finland.
Practical studies are emphasized in our programmes. You get to adapt theory to real working life situations in study projects, where you cooperate with real companies and working life partners. We value practical and working-life oriented studying, so our programmes are planned in collaboration with our partners. During your study time you get to rehearse your skills in real working life environments, create networks and grow to be a professional on your own field.
